If it’s your first time getting a hearing check, we’ll make sure everything is functioning properly and you’re hearing the way you should be. If you have hearing loss or have experienced hearing issues before, we’ll provide a thorough check-up to help you stay on top of your hearing health.
What our hearing checks include:
- Discussion before the test to gather information and hear any concerns or symptoms you may be experiencing
- Complete examination of ear canals to check for wax build-up, infection and other potential issues
- Immittance testing to check for potential fluid build-up or eardrum perforation
- Pure tone testing, where you listen for various beeps and tones and let the audiologist know when you hear a sound
- Bone conduction testing to determine whether any hearing loss is caused by problems in the outer, middle, or inner ear.
- Speech discrimination testing which involves listening to words and repeating them back
- Otoacoustic emissions (OAE) testing to determine how well your inner ear is working
- Speech-in-noise testing to measure your ability to hear in noisy environments
